Crytek’s Nanosuit receives “Red Dot Design Award” for outstanding design


Frankfurt, September 2, 2009 –For its outstanding design the famous Nanosuit, which was created in line with the development of Crysis, has now received one of the most coveted design prizes worldwide: the “red dot”.

The quality label for sophisticated and innovative design is awarded annually in the international competition “red dot design award”. This year, the jury consisting of 18 international design experts had to assess the design quality of 6.112 entries from 42 nations in the red dot award: communication design. About 8% of all entries received an award. All award-winning works will be presented to the public in an exhibition at the red dot design museum in Essen, Germany, from 10 December 2009 to 10 January 2010.

As seen on the cover of the February 2010 issue of PC Gamer magazine.

PC Gamer lists it as one of their top 10 games of 2010. The preview debuts the first two screens from the game, showing off a lush city park (complete with benches, trash cans, and plenty of trees) and a decimated city street.

There's also an interview with the game's Executive Producer, Nathan Camarillo, which includes highlighted phrases like "far from tropical" and "increased verticality."

The issue should be on newsstands next week -- pick up a copy for more Crysis 2 details!

More Crysis (Probably Crysis 2) Arriving Sometime Before March 2011

Crytek fans patiently waiting for an update on the development of Crysis 2 announced by Electronic Arts and Crytek in the summer of last year, should be happy to hear that EA has confirmed it's scheduled the release of Crysis game sometime before March 30, 2011.

March 30, 2011 is the end of EA's fiscal year 2011. I can't confirm the game's actually Crysis 2 because that's not how Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello referred to the upcoming Crysis release on a conference call with analysts discussing recent revisions to EA's financial outlook.

"I think we've got a fabulous title plan for fiscal [2011]," said Riccitiello. "We've got a great new version of Medal of Honor, a revitalized Need For Speed, Sims on console, FIFA in a World Cup year, an innovative and new take on Madden, Dead Space 2, Crysis at full margins, a new MMA game and many others."

Riccitiello is most likely referring to "Crysis at full margins" because while Crysis was a PC exclusive, Crysis 2 was announced for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 simultaneously.

EA superboss John Riccitiello has said to expect Dead Space 2 and Crysis 2 "at full margins", whatever that means, within the company's 2011 fiscal year.

In other words, we can expect to see both games before 31st March 2011 by current reckoning.

Also noch 1 Jahr, vor März 2011 noch. Haette ich ehrlich gesagt nicht erwartet.
