Upcoming NVIDIA Graphics Card, The D8E Codename Written by Mavke Tuesday, 06 November 2007 NVIDIA told a few holy souls that its new high-end card is getting ready for Q1 2008 launch. NVIDIA knows it is late for Christmas but it didn't had much options as the new high-end was simply not ready for last quarter of 2007. The whole new high-end codenamed D8E, will have two chips on two PCB's with two power connectors and a huge powerfull power supply. Most of you remember the GeForce 7950 GX2 so this will be a similar card. We still have to confirm if the chips on this cards are two G92's but we heavily suspect that NVIDIA can enable the eight stream processors cluster of this 65nm chip and make the current GeForce 8800 GT chip even faster. -

If NVIDIA does that the GeForce 8800 GT chip will become the GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB, just with a touch of a flash tool. After all the G92 has more chips than the G80 which means it has at least the same brute power, faster shaders and a new video processors and we are sure that it has eight clusters just as many as G80 has. Two of these chips should run very fast and we reckon that such a card should be able to beat the R680, ATI's high-end scheduled for the same timeframe. NVIDIA also plans a new single chip high-end card for mid 2008 codenamed G100 or D9E.
