Welcome to the “Crysis Monthly Update #8", the monthly report for our world-wide community. This time around we've got the information and statistics on both patch 1.3 and the Crysis Wars holiday trial. We've also got the full summary of MyCrysis TV and the competitions we've run over the past month. Earlier this month we saw the release of Patch 1.3. It contained a fix for the auto map downloader, which now allows custom maps to run smoothly. It also contained the Holiday Map Pack, which has 2 great maps in it. Frost, the icy PowerStruggle map, and Savanna the Desert battleground.  Introduction Less than a month after the release of Patch 1.2 we are now releasing Patch 1.3. Included in this patch is the Holiday Map Pack, a special present from us to close the year and to make sure you guys have some great fun over the Holiday period and right across the start of next year. Thanks for all of your support over this past year, and we really hope you enjoy these maps. Be sure to check out the introduction videos to them from the Level Designers that made them. These videos can be found here (Savanna) and here (Frost). Do I need to have patch 1 and patch 2 installed before? No, that is not needed. If you have installed Crysis Wars recently you just download patch 3 since it includes all changes from the former patches as well. If you have Crysis Wars already updated to patch 1 or patch 2, then the patch 3 installation will work without any problems as well. Patch Notes Fixes:

Downloads
Thus far, in just under 2 weeks since the Patches initial release there have been thousands of downloads. We have some official stats for you guys coming in from both MyCrysis.com and Fileplanet below.

As you can see we've had nearly 40,000 download across just those 2 sites and we're compiling additional information from the other sites that we know are hosting the patch files. Make sure if you haven't updated your game yet to get it up to date with the latest version, otherwise you won't be able to play online with your friends.
MyCrysis TV
This month also saw the laucnh of MyCrysis Tv, something which we hope you guys enjoyed and we intend to have a lot more video updates like it in future. With the launch of both Frost and Savanna, we not only gave you flythroughs of each of these maps, but we also provided you with an Interview with each of the level designers, and some outtakes, just to show the funnier side.
The community team would like to thank the entire Crysis Wars multiplayer team for their helpful contributions to the entire community, we'd also like to say that it was great fun making the videos and you can expect more in the future. If you weren't fortunate enough to see the videos when they were first released, then check out the links below to be able to watch them all.
Over 40000 people watched the introductions on Gametrailers.com alone, so these definitely were able to create some hype. We'll make sure that in the new year you guys will be able to download HD versions of all the videos from the past month.
Crysis wars Trial Period
We had yet another trial period over the Holidays. It received a great turn out and we're happy to see that several people have decided they liked the game and that they wanted to keep playing after the trial had ended, so that's great news!
The trial client was downloaded over 24,000 times from Fileplanet, our official partner for this trial period, so that is a great result and we've seen some awesome exposure from this event.

Competitions
As with many other months, December saw some awesome contests throughout the course of it. We'd like to start off by metioning the Hidden Present Bonanza, which everyone was really interested in, so much so, that the thread dedicated to this competition had over 1,300 posts and 20,000 views.

We also hosted a competition in partnership with UGAME.net, a social network for gamers. This competition was a little more difficult to enter. You needed to write up a blog entry on what you thought made a good e-sports title, a topic which it turns out people have a wide range of opinions on. We're still working on deciding who the winners are which will be announced in the new year, so hang tight, the decision will be made shortly.

As a final treat for you guys, with the launch of Patch 1.3 and the Holiday Map Pack we also took the opportunity to hide some Snowmen in Frost, our new PowerStruggle map. There was lots of speculation about the number of snowmen that were scattered about the map, until finally someone guessed right, and identified that there were 13 named after all the staff in the Crysis Wars team.

Introduction As many of you have noticed by now there are snowmen hidden throughout one of our newest maps. Congratulations go out to nanowarriorr who successfully found all 13 snowmen in the brand new PowerStruggle map ‘Frost’ he will receive a T-shirt for his efforts, along with a mousepad. For those of you that have not yet found all of the snowmen, take a look at the image below.  Conclusion Each snowman has been given a name of a member of the Wars team, as a nice little touch we thought we'd add. We got a very happy holiday greeting from CoBrA007, check out the video created by him and friends especially for the Holidays.

Whats to come!
To those of you that celebrate new year on the 31st December, we wish you all a happy new year, and we'd also like to give you a special treat, about what's to come in the new year. The Editor and SDK are being worked on and will be available for release in the new year, we currently don't know when this will be, but good progress is being made and we're hoping it will be sooner rather than later. Crysis Warhead will receive a patch in the new year, it's almost finished thanks to some hard work from the Warhead team, so thats something to look forward to.
MyCrysis will be seeing plenty of updates to the website and lots more content all round, and Crymod will be getting a lot more interaction from the developers, and hopefully some chances for you guys to directly communicate with them about your map, mod and other work.
So once again, happy holidays one and all! We shall see you all in the new year, and we know it's going to be great!
