    Welcome to the “Crysis Wars EX Update #1”, the regular report about the latest changes and additions in the world of Crysis Wars EX. We have several categories in each update and we hope to get some input from you, the community, to know exactly what you want to read in these updates. In the first update we want to introduce you to our project Crysis Wars EX and the Online Modding Group.

    Crysis Wars EX?
    This is the first time you hear about Crysis Wars EX? Then let me introduce you to the world of EX. It all started in a small forum where people from the community founded the Online Modding Group. During the next weeks they were working on schedules and feature lists to define the clear content of the project and ended up with 5 pages full of features and improvements and some weeks later the project got the name CRYSIS WARS EX(TENDED).
    EX describes everything we do in one word. Our goal is to deliver more content to the community and improve the game together with all of you to make it a great Multiplayer experience.

    Version 1.0 – Let´s get it started!
    We are starting with the first version pretty soon. Of course we will keep improving the game after the release of 1.0 and will add new features to it.
    In the first update we want to introduce you to several improvements we were working on for the last weeks. Over time we will reveal more information on the first version.
    • Improvement: Server Side Option to enable/disable Walljump
    • Improvement: Addition of command to enable/disable the Hit Indicator
    • Improvement: Addition of new console command to compare server and client Protect.xml file
    • Improvement: Added new command to show FPS (without the other information from r_displayinfo)
    • Improvement: Added new console command to show player information (mod version, ping, map name…)
    • Improvement: Added console commands to set different item restrictions for each game mode
    • Fixed: Misplaced AY-69 Silencer in 3rd person
    • Fixed: Map Exploit on Refinery
    • Fixed: Two different issues with changing map on the server
    • Fixed: Bug with raising weapon
    • Balance: FY-71 Game Balance changes to be more equal to the SCAR
    • Addition: Replaced old Sniper Scope with a new Sniper Scope
    • Addition: Added small visual changes to the Hurricane



    Meet the OMG! Team: Vert-X
    Welcome in the “Meet the OMG Team” section where we will introduce you to the different members of the Online Modding Group. It is always exciting to know more about the people that work on something you play and therefore we thought it might be a good addition to our regular updates. This week we start with our Lead Artist Patrick "Vert-X" Laferl:

    Hello fellow modders, My name is Patrick "Vert-X" Laferl and I live in Austria. I am leading the Art Department of OMG! which keeps me pretty busy. My job is to model all kinds of assets and control the quality of the other artist´s work. My weapon of choice is 3DS Max which I am using for approximately 4 years now and I would describe myself as a good modeler. Of course I want to do something useful with my skills and that is one of the reasons why I joined OMG! Improving a game is a great experience and I am happy to work and do progress with my teammates. My current work, a whole-new weapon for Crysis Wars EX, demonstrates how well we work together. We are a friendly bunch of modders, that makes modding great fun and I am looking forward to our MOD.

    Community centered development
    This is a project from the community for the community. Therefore we require your support. There are actually several ways to help us developing such a project so please take some time and think about it. Every helping hand is much appreciated.

    This was the first Crysis Wars EX Update. I hope you are excited like we about this new project. Comments and Feedback regarding the update is much appreciated and will help us to improve our service for you. Also I would agree that we lack screenshots and videos but I promise that we will improve the next time.

    Whoa, als begeisterter Wars Spieler freue ich mich da schon drauf.
    De arbeiten wenigstens an den Sachen, die wirklich mal gefixt werden müssen!

    Nutze google oder online-übersetzer, ist doch nicht so schwer zu verstehen! Ist ja schon fast Schulenglisch^^

    Achja wirklich klasse Sache die sie da vorhaben/machen, man merkt das Crysis Wars noch nicht gestorben für einige Gamer /Modder ist. Freue mich schon wie Nachbars Lumpie

    Version 1.0 – More features revealed!
    Last week we revealed the first features of Crysis Wars EX. We want to continue in this update and reveal most of the other features. Some special ones will be mentioned in the next updates.
    As a side note we want to mention that all server side features can be administrated using console commands to enable and disable the features on the fly without the need to adjust external files and restart the server.

    ·Improvement: Addition of Server Side option to allow name changing
    ·Improvement: Added High Ping kick option for server administrators
    ·Improvement: Added alternative way to show the player ingame icons
    ·Improvement: Addition of Server Side option to rename Nomads to alternative names
    ·Fixed: SDK issue with the localized text not being able to be loaded from the localized folder
    ·Fixed: bug with explosions not showing up
    ·Fixed: issue with not being able to kill sleeping enemies
    ·Fixed: issue with laser dot not being visible on all surfaces
    ·Balance: Slowed down the Light TAC Tank
    ·Balance: Decreased melee damage to a value between Patch 1.4 and Patch 1.5
    ·Balance: Resized 3D objectives icons in Power Struggle
    ·Balance: Reworked the balance of the Hurricane to make the weapon more effective as defending weapon
    ·Balance: Raised Switching Speed of all weapons

    EX Maps: Plantation, Refinery & others
    In addition to new features and improvements on the code side of the game we also reworked several existing maps from Crytek to achieve a better balance for competitive gaming. They will not replace the original maps and will have a different name.

    Plantation_EX
    ·Added third entrance to the Prototype Factory
    ·Added the tunnel system of Plantation (Crysis) back to the map
    ·Fixed some small graphical issues
    ·Both Alien Energy Sites have been moved some meters


    Desolation_EX
    ·Added more cover for players on their way from the outside bunker to the Prototype Factory
    ·Removed some background vegetation to gain a better performance
    Training_EX
    ·Added third entrance to the Prototype Factory

    ·Fixed exploit (invisible solids floating in the air)

    Meet the OMG! Team: TheBlackDead
    Welcome in the “Meet the OMG Team” section where we will introduce you to the different members of the Online Modding Group. It is always exciting to know more about the people that work on something you play and therefore we thought it might be a good addition to our regular updates. After starting last update with Vert-X we will continue with our Lead Programmer TheBlackDead.

    Hello, my name is Simone “TheBlackDead” Angeloni. I am 23 years old and I live in Rome, Italy. I am working for this project as Lead Programmer, what means that I’m developing our core system in C++ and LUA languages, building our custom .dll file used to run everything included in CrysisWars EX. Coordinating the tasks of our programmer team is one of my other tasks. I am controlling their work and debug it until I don´t find any issue anymore. I work in C and C++ till 8 years and I should say that I am a good programmer, but I prefer let the others judge this. This is by the way the first time that I am working at such a big project to rebuild or improve parts of a videogame. It is a very interesting job which improved my C++ skill quite a lot. I am looking forward to see our first version released and used by all of you.

    Sniper Scope by Vert-X

    This was the second Crysis Wars EX Update. We hope you all enjoyed reading it and will try out Crysis Wars EX as soon as it gets released. In the next update we have a big announcement to make so stay tuned and have a good week.

    nicht schlecht der specht das lam geht jezz vllt. auch immer ...

    das scope is echt nice (das alte alpha teil richtig?)
    - nur ich find's schade das es das andere ersetzt - das rein raus zoomen war schon ziemlich praktisch
    (ihr solltet lieber den bug beheben was sicher ned so einfach is wenns ned ma crytek schafft)

    aber in training den 3. eingang find ich eher unpraktisch ... weil man hinten rum eh kaum läuft und das nur das halten der proto erschwert -
    plantation wird dadurch vllt. faierererer

    naja viel erfolg
    *gespannt wart auf das highlight*

    ps: sollte das bei TBD

    heisen dass ihr ihn dazu gezwungen/angestachelt habt ??

    Das zoomen funktioniert immer noch. Wir haben lediglich das Objekt ersetzt und nein wir haben niemand zu irgendwas gezwungen (zumindest würd ich das hier niemals zugeben )

    hmm is dann der bug behoben ? nur mit dem andren model und dem ganzen zeugs?

    - falls nicht dann lasst doch das andere auch drinne -
    ich bin immer der meinung die fülle des spiels is viel zu leer (geiler satz)
