Gears of War 3: Mit Unterwasserkämpfen, Mechs und Sommerkulisse?

Glaubt man neusten Informationen der EDGE, wird CliffyB bei seinem angekündigten TV-Showauftritt in Kürze tatsächlich Gears of War 3 enthüllen. Um diese längst erwartete Vermutung weiter zu untermauern, liefert die anonyme Quelle der Kollegen auch gleich einige Details über den dritten Teil der Shooterserie ab. So soll das deckungslastige Kampfsystem beispielsweise mit fiesen Tentakel-Locust sowie unterirdisch einsetzbaren Waffen auf den Kopf gestellt werden.
Weiter heißt es, Marcus Fenix & Co. werden mächtige Mech-Kampfanzüge zur Verfügung gestellt bekommen, in welche sie ganz im "Lost Planet"-Stil hineinschlüpfen können. Wen wundert angesichts dessen noch der Crossover-Auftritt des Epic-Franchises in Capcoms neustem Serienteil?
All diese Features werden laut EDGE sowohl im Solo- als auch im Multiplayermodus zu finden sein. Zudem berichten die Kollegen, dass Gears of War 3 in der Sommerzeit spielen werde und deswegen neben helleren Naturkulissen mit viel Vegetation auch Unterwassergameplay erwartet werden dürfe. Diese Angaben decken sich mit der jüngsten GDC-Präsentation von Epic, während derer die neuste Version der Unreal-Engine (samt Brumak) vorgeführt wurden. Bereits 2008 diente die Grafikmotordemonstration der GDC als kleine Vorschau auf den kommenden "Gears of War"-Teil, der auf die damals gezeigte Engineversion baute und sämtliche Features der GDC beinhaltete. Das nun 2010 gezeigte Natursetting könnte die Insel Vectes gezeigt haben, welche im Roman Jacinto's Remnant beschrieben wird. Das Buch setzt die Story von Gears of War 2 unmittelbar nach dem Spielende fort und ist teilweise rund um eine ehemalige COG-Basis angesiedelt, welche von Wäldern umgeben ist und nahe an einem größeren Fluss liegt.

Meh, wieder so ein "Epic Games" Trailer.
Wird bestimmt wie in Teil 1 und Teil 2 nicht ganz an den Teaser ran kommen mit der Größe des Kampfes aber trotzdem sieht der Teaser gut aus.
