Today I want to introduce a new total conversion to the community. Its name is ‘Blood Moon’. You can find us at bloodmoon-mod.com. BM is a free, team based, multiplayer only modification for Crysis. It creates a world in which humans, revenants (vampires & zombies) and werewolves fight each other and features a new game mode called ‘Capture the enemy’ (short CTE).
Here are two paragraphs from the design document that will explain the basics of CTE:
Defenselessness
Every time the health points of a player fall below zero he will enter the state of defenselessness. Only in this state he can be turned into a renegade.
Humans can leave this state when treated by another human player. Werewolves leave it automatically after a certain amount of time due to their self-healing ability. Zombies and vampires also resurge after a given waiting time.
Renegades
The aim for every player is to convert every other player into a team member. This process could also be described as creating renegades. Making an enemy become a renegade is different for every team.
The humans just have to finish off a defenseless revenant or a werewolf. The killed player will then respawn as human without weapons and equipped with a lantern somewhere in the spawn location of the humans. This player will be very sleepy. His first destination should be a cup of coffee.
The werewolves have to bite defenseless enemies. The self-healing effect of the werewolves will help to bring revenants back to life as werewolves. This transmutation can be accelerated by repeatedly biting the victims. Biting is only possible while the enemy is defenseless.
The revenant team depends on the vampires who have to bite defenseless enemies and ‘save’ them from death by converting them into their own kind. Those victims thereafter slowly turn into zombies.
If you want to join the team read on.
