Introduction
StarCry is a first-person adventure, taking place in a science-fiction universe. You will travel to other planets and discover alien technologies, with a whole new crysis gameplay. This universe blends itself with references to famous science-fiction, but we DO NOT try to recreate an existing franchise. In each map of the adventure, you will recognize references to different famous science-fiction universes.
We are developing this mod with fun, so there will be many easter eggs to be found, and humour. We hope you will enjoy it.

About the Mod
The work on this mod started a long time ago on Far Cry, followed by different other engines. We are now working with Crysis since the demo came out, adding things almost everyday.

For our first update we have two new videos, the first one shows our Melee Fighting concept (still WIP, but working) and the second one shows a few of our weapons.




Stay tuned for the next updates, we have a lot more to show.

3RD UPDATE (09/Oct/08)
New video taking place in the WIP village near the oasis. In this video you will see several new weapons, our enemy guards with their new helmets, human teammates with heavy armour, player-controlled bombing and many other things. We also have nine new screenshots.

bin zwar kein StarGate Fan, aber diese mod sieht ja richtig HAMMER aus.

Bin mal gespannt, wie lange es noch dauert bis sie veröffentlicht wird, dauert hoffentlich net mehr all zu lange.

P.s. Die Kettensäge finde ich auch richtig geil und den k.A. wie die heißen, dieser Huhnmensch :???:, ist echt gut geworden.

Mod Features
The coders in the team have gone to town with the mod features in the past weeks implementing flash based dialogue systems and digicode security locks, as well as creating a grappling gun system. Welcome to today's news update and another look at the fantastic work in progress modification, entitled "StarCry (http://www.crymod.com/thread.php?threadid=35755)". Crymod community member and co-leader of the StarCry Team, DarK_Wolf, has recently updated the community with two new videos of the modification, both of which we would like to feature for you here in today's news update.


Droid Dismemberment
Firstly we have a new video of the modification which shows off both a work in progress C++ coded dismemberment system, and a new work in progress enemy, the battledroid. As shown in the video, the droid can be fully dismembered and reacts accordingly to it, with the dismemberment of each body part reducing it's effectiveness appropriately. A soon to be added feature is the destruction of the head, which will reduce it's intelligence even further.

Multiplayer Racing
Next, and lastly, we have a video demonstrating a new multiplayer racing map, complete with brand new vehicles. Below is a quote from the DarK_Wolf regarding this exciting new content addition.


"After many requests about adding multiplayer content, we decided fall 2008 to add multiplayer levels with original content/gameplay like the singleplayer does. This is a preview, all the track and lap counting system are still in progress, but you can see new vehicules that are fully functional."

Crass, haben sich viel mühe fürs Detail gegeben (Playstation3, XBox :D) Ist der Modeller der von Niveus, der verwendet auch diese "Pfeile"?
Auch das mit dem Code find ich geil, und die Veränderung am HUD... echt super!

Habe es jetzt angetestet, kann deine Aussage nur unterstreichen, ist meiner Meinung nichts halbes und nichts ganzes. :sad:

man merkt halt schon, dass es "nur" eine Mod ist, es kommt einfach keine richtige Stimmung auf, aber das war auch ein 2-Mann-Projekt, wofür es schon nicht schlecht ist. Allein die ganzen Objekte zu erstellen.

Von den Features her finde ich es allerdings recht interessant, XP System, Dialogsystem, Inventar, Healtpacks, Navi usw. sind coole Neuerungen

bei mir gibts leider einen "Bug" im 2. Kapitel und zwar im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes, wenn ich nen Spielstand lade, lande ich ganz wo anders in einer Höhle und ein Bug (die aus Starship Troopers) killt mich, danach wechselt es zurück zur normalen Map aber das Spiel friert ein :(

Zudem ist es imho echt bockeschwer, ich vermiss meinen Cloak-Mode :(

Muss ich zustimmen, hatte gehoft das es nur mir so geht, aber da kommt echt keine Stimmung auf und vorallem weil ich oft nicht weis was das Spiel jetzt von mir will und es nicht weitergeht macht es nicht wirklich besser. Sehr Schade, dafür das so eine lange Produktionszeit dahinter steckt. Trotzdem hab ich Respekt für die ganzen Features, vorallem für die geilen Soundtracks, die sind echt gelungen.
